Review Week 5

Shape: I think that this picture shows shape very well. shape is very important in a design because it can show many different things or images in one picture. this picture has alot of shapes put together to make one picture. Shapes can help make your design more interesting.

Line: I think that this picture shows the element of line very well. This picture usues mostly line and it is still very interesting. This element can really add some depth to your design. Usuing line in a picture can make something look more interesting because you could be usuing curved lines, straight lines, and there is so many ways to make it look very interesting.

Texture: texture is something that makes your audiance want to touch your design. i chose this picture because the angle of it shows the texture very well. if you have good texture in your design then it looks like if you tpuch it then you coud feel the roughness, softness, etc. texture adds a lot of depth to your design and really pulls people in.

Space: space is something where if you feel like you have too much going on it can help make it look not so crowded. if you have an advertisement it can help lead your eye around the paper. but if there is no space your eye is usually fixated on one object and that is not good for advertising. This picture shows good space because of its simplicity.

Value: value is the lightness or darkness of a color. so it is often used when u see black and white pictures. this picture shows a lot of value because it has the color black and in between all the way until white. value can make something darker or lighter depending on which one.

Understanding the history, culture and movements of fine and graphic arts will make you a better producer of visual messages. Why?

-OSHA stand for Occupational Safety and Health Administration. What OSHA does is establish working and safety regulations and its made to keep workers safe at work.

-Graphic designers communicate effectively by publishing things and putting things on the internet and creating their own style. I think the communication process is visusally communicating things through graphic design and making your work very memorable.

-Undertanding culture, history, and movements of grapic deisign will benefit you because if you diseign something based on the 50's you can know how they deisgined things and what they did in that time period.
