Stamped Lips
Describe the color that he utilizes. Does he use any particular color scheme?
I think that it is a monochramatic and a little analagous because there are shades of the same color but they are 3 colors next to eachother on the color wheel.
What do you notice about the artwork itself?
i really like this picture im not sure why he really made it his own and the way the lips are arranged look very good, i think the way he utilized his colors and the way the lips are shaped really helped. it just makes u look at it for a long time.

Review week 8
Why must designers pay close attention to how color is utilized within a composition?
because if they don't it could make or break their design. Color can exaggerate or tone down something and it is very important to utilize.
Why is the color wheel an important tool for graphic designers?
Because they can use to to determine a color scheme for their design, if they just choose random color not knowing where they are on the color wheel it could turn out very badly.
Find an example of neutral colors utilized within a design (hint: google poster design). Near the sample, discuss why you feel the designer included neutral colors within the composition.
I think that the designer used nuetral colors because he felt it would make the words stand out.
Briefly describe how we "see" the color of an object?
we see a white light and whatever color the object is its reflected back into our eye.

Podcast #2
Within the electromagnetic spectrum, which waves allow us to see color?
Visible light
Describe white light?
Equal parts of all colors in the visible spectrum
How do we see color if objects "have no color of their own"?
Because of white light, they appear to be in color when they absorb or reflect colors in the visible spectrum
What is a glass prism?
A transparent triangular object that breaks white light into all the colors
What seven colors result when white light is refracted through a prism?
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet
Describe hue?
Hue is the color itself, each different hue is a different reflected wavelength
When does white light occur?
All wavelengths are reflected into your eye
When does black light occur?
When no wavelengths are reflected back into your eye
How color is perceived depends on what?
Type of light it is seen with; indacesant, floresant, natural sunlight, according to their surroundings
What is a color wheel?
Visual tool that shows relationship with primary, secondary, and tertiary colors
What are primary colors? Name them?
Red, yellow, blue, when mixed it creates a secondary color.
What are secondary colors? Name them?
Orange, green, violet, when primary and secondary is mexed tertiary is mexed
What are tertiary colors? Name them?
Red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, red-violet
What are neutral colors? How can they be created?
Don’t show on the color wheel, very low saturation, blacks greys whites and browns
How can a neutral color help a design?
Help put focus on other colors or help tone down colors
What are complementary colors? Name them?
Positioned oppisite of eachother on the color wheel, red and green, orange and blue, yellow and violet
What is color value?
Lightness or darkness of a hue
What is a shade?
Adding black, low value color
What is a tint?
Adding white, high value
What is saturation/intensity?
Brightness of a color
What happens when you mix complementary colors together?
A dull tone is produced
Describe color harmony?
A pleasing arrangment of colors, engages the veiwer
What is a color scheme?
Color combinations, used to create style and appeal, always harmonius
Describe a monochromatic color scheme?
Uses tints and shades of one color, clean and elegant
Describe an analogous color scheme?
3 colors that are adjacent on the color wheel, bright and cheery effect
Describe a complementary color scheme?
2 colors oppisite on the color wheel, used in nature a lot
Describe a split-complementary color scheme?
Used a color and both colors adjacent, will draw attention
Describe a triadic color scheme?
3 colors equally spaced on the color wheel, strong balance
What colors are considered to be warm colors?
Vivid in nature, yellows oranges, and reds, aggression, exciment,
Describe a warm color scheme?
Tend to appear closer, makes things pop
What colors are considered to be cool colors?
Green, blues and violets, comforting, calm, rarely over powers, appear farther away
Describe a cool color scheme?
Very calming, comforting, illusion of depth, ot overpowering
Why is important to consider which colors are being used within a design? Think about how colors are perceived, right color choice can convey the right message, creates an emotional reaction
